Barbara Corcoran is an investor, an entrepreneur and a judge on the hit show “Shark Tank”. Corcoran has invested in over 15 food related companies throughout her time as a ‘Shark’, including a few new snack brands.
Based on the below criteria, five (5) finalists will be selected to pitch on the live stage, and five (5) semifinalists will also be selected. All ten companies will have the opportunity to showcase their products in the SNAC Tank Showcase on Tuesday, April 2 during SNAXPO exhibit hall hours.
Must be an innovative start-up snack brand
Product must be currently available for consumer purchase
Preferred demonstrated financial backing
Must commit to attending SNAXPO (registration fee waived) and sending product to sample
Submit a two-minute smart-phone quality video clip pitch and complete the application form.

Megan and her husband Scott started Jackson’s Honest as a way to share their son Jackson’s story with potato chips, tortilla chips and grain free puffs all cooked with organic coconut oil. Their son’s autoimmune disease defined the types of foods he could eat and when they started addressing his disease through diet and nutrition, they couldn’t find the foods they needed, so they made them all from scratch. These products were some of what came out of their kitchen in that journey to address Jackson’s disease.
Megan and Scott were on the season premiere of Shark Tank in October 2017 and partnered with famed brand guru and former CMO at Coca Cola Rohan Oza, who was a driving force behind the success of Vitamin Water, Pop Chips, and Bai Drinks, among many other iconic food and beverage brands.

Robert Bies is the Academic Director of the Executive Master’s in Leadership Program at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He is currently the Academic Director of the Executive Master’s in Leadership Program for D.C. Public School Leaders. Professor Bies’ current research focuses on leadership, the delivery of bad news, organizational justice, andrevenge and forgiveness in the workplace. Bies received his Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Tom Dempsey previously served as President of Utz Quality Foods as well as President & CEO of SNAC International. During his tenure with SNAC, he led organizational growth and the rebranding from Snack Food Association to SNAC International. During his 24-year tenure with Utz Quality Foods, he held successive roles as Vice President – Marketing, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Executive Vice President and President. Mr. Dempsey also held various executive positions with Dun & Bradstreet, Avon Products, and CJ Clark NA prior to joining Utz Quality Foods Inc. A native of Williamsport, Pa., and graduate of Colgate University, Tom and his wife, Bekki, have two daughters Katie & Jennifer.
Chris brings to Craft Catalyst almost 20 years in marketing, commercialization and business development in consumer products, as well as media and technology. Chris leads Craft Catalyst engagements focused on brand management, marketing and strategic planning and in recent years has worked with such leading premium food & beverage brands as LesserEvil Snacks, Kill Cliff, Slingshot Coffee Co., Charleston Mix, Revolution Gelato and SmashPack to name a few.
